Went to an ELL teacher workshop today. It was, essentially, about why English is so difficult to learn with all the weird spelling and pronunciation rules.\u00a0 Here was one thing I’d never heard before: geminates.\u00a0 Basically, you’re repeating the same consonant, not specifically the letter.
