The hardest thing about taking this photo was not getting my own reflection in the silver balls (as opposed to silver bells). I think I mostly succeeded.
This was on the “special” rack at the thrift store. Generally, this is where they put formal gowns, leather jackets, and high-fashion label items. I saw this and thought “Well, it’s a t-shirt dress. I guess it’s cute.” Then I spotted the original price tag still on it, and I laughed and laughed.
My colleague knows someone who works at Pepperidge Farm, so she brought a couple not-yet-available-in-stores goodies to a meeting. These crackers were just your basic Goldfish with some Mickey shapes dyed red. The other product was carrot Goldfish, and those were yummy.
I’m not a fan of the Elf on a Shelf, but whatever. When the Mensch on a Bench came up, I thought “cute rhyme, unnecessary idea.” Now we’ve got two more stupid so-called Hannukah versions? Enough! Just because there’s a Christmas thing, there doesn’t have to be a Hannukah equivalent.
Not as common around here as the downy woodpecker, this is the confusingly named hairy woodpecker. And yes….it’s not alive. It was in the Collections office at work. Still cool, though.
