Spent some time at the Arnold Arboretum in JP today, since the weather was so fantastic. Haven’t been a long long time. The place is huge; even on a beautiful day when there were many cars parked outside the Arboretum, it was easy to find quiet paths with no one else around.

Spent the afternoon at the originalm Honk! festival in Davis Square. Super fun. I know there are other Honkfests around the country, and you should totally go if you can. For those of you not familiar with Honk!, check here:

We stopped by the Aquarium a couple times to watch the seals outside. They mostly were swimming upside down, but would periodically pop up to take a breath and say hi. I would have loved to also visit the penguins inside, but wasn’t about to pay the expensive entrance fee. They really should off a “penguins only” ticket.

it’s fun to find out
We spent a rainy afternoon at the Museum of Science. One new exhibit we explored was about AI. It had this fun little interactive where it makes a picture of what you describe. It gives you options for the character, its personality, a color/pattern, an activity and location. Then you choose what style you want it in (claymation, watercolor, etc). This was our creation:
“A sassy puppy with polka dots baking a cake on the moon. ” (claymation)
all the world’s a stage
(I just realized that I had not uploaded any of my Boston pics from the first half of the week. I will correct that, which means some days will have more than one photo. Oh well.)
We took a tour of the Wang Theatre today. I was far more interesting than I thought it would be. The theatre was empty except for some tech crew, so we really got to look all over. Here’s the view of the audience, from the stage, a view I am highly unlikely to ever see again.

I volunteered at “my” shelter’s Open House today. My regular volunteer role is remote, so I had never been to the shelter. Lovely to put faces to the names of people I regularly email with. Oh, and also….cats. Including this little girl, whose name I never did catch. I’m told she is 9 weeks old, and yes that is her adorable little pink tongue poking out.
