it cracks me up when we have hawks or owls at work, and parents tell their kids there’s a “birdie.” if this hawk could understand English, she’d rip your friggin’ head off for saying that.
celebrating our 100th birthday at work, and August is officially “Birthday Month.” so we’ve declared tomorrow is Watson’s birthday and we’ll be singing to him and giving him presents (exactly what presents, I don’t know). anyway…doesn’t he just look pleased as could be?
for free day at work, we hired a bunch of street performer type acts to keep the people in line entertained. and the people working. this guy amused me….as he placed all this stuff on his chin, he’d mutter “take…..the picture……NOW!” (reminded me of Young Frankenstein…)
every month the floor staff gets some kind of free lunch or dessert or some such, and today it was hot dogs. now, a pile of dogs off the grill is festive. a pile of supermarket dogs, out of the microwave (I assume) is kind of….sad. and unappetizing.
it’s not all that unusual to find a bowl of playdough in the staff lounge, but this batch was very warm, having been heated in the microwave, which is a little weird.
went to see Commonwealth Shakespeare’s annual free production on the Common. this year was “Two Gentlemen of Verona” which was absolutely brilliant. and the weather was just perfect for enjoying an outdoor performance.
