luckily, I am under orders to do some walking around every day, and since I don’t want to or need to be stuck near my room, I am exploring the hospital. a friend suggested this area as a nice goal, and upon arrival, I found it a much more pleasant place to sit and read
there’s a large bike parking “cage” on the MGH campus, and I was happy to see it packed to the gills. there’s this little station on the side where you can hang your bike, fill the tires, and make minor repairs. pretty cool.
I suppose if you’re going to be stuck in the hospital, this isn’t such a bad view to have
at first, I wondered why an Infectious Disease specialist would have a tuning fork. then I noticed it was spelled wrong. then the doctor started talking about admitting me, and I forgot to ask about it.
it makes me happy to see classic game things like hopscotch, chinese jump rope, and pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey
I had no idea jujubes were anything other than a movie theater concession stand candy. learn something new every day.
Doug and I went for a lovely walk at Worlds End reservation in Hingham today. there were not many birds to be seen, but we did spot this little guy moving quite quickly across our path. we did not take a measurement of his brown stripe….it doesn’t really work anyway.
we were playing around with a new exhibit idea today; there were some giant blowers set on a table and the floor beneath and we tied streamers to them and tossed in paper leaves, fabric and other stuff. this is how the magic happens, people….
meanwhile, when I got the picture off the camera, I decided I really wanted to show off the long ribbon, and the background was distracting. so I went back to the camera and selected just the red; it’s one of my favorite features to play with.
at Stefan and Emily’s wedding, there were small pumpkins on the table, along with sharpie markers and encrouagment to decorate. the sharpies tended to fade quickly (wax on the pumpkins maybe?) but creativity and patience won out.
it was 16 feet long and weighed 1200+ pounds and everyone wanted a piece of it. literally, and figuratively.
