last week these pallets were covered with trays of spring flowers. now that March has reclaimed its rightful place on the calendar, they’ve been removed. I assume to someplace warmer.
Doug was very busy today; got almost all of the kitchen packed up and/or moved to the basement. It’s Plastic Plate City for us for the next couple months at least…
this is a cool trick: stick an egg in vinegar for a few days and the shell will dissolve. but you’ll still have a raw egg. but I only wanted to remove the shell from half the egg. so I stuck it in a funnel in a jar and filled it with vinegar. sometimes I am amazed at my own cleverness.
this is the countertop. it has various stains on it from over the weekend. I don’t really care. in fact, I’m taking a certain pleasure in not cleaning it up because I know that 2 weeks from now this dreadful counter will be gone forever.
I know a lot of people think cemeteries are creepy, but I think they are a lovely place to go for a walk. Even super-Catholic ones, like this, because no one’s trying to force religion down your throat.
scorpions glow turquoise when you shine black light on them! isn’t that cool!? There are a lot of ideas about why this happens but no one’s really sure. at any rate, it’s a handy way to keep an eye out for the little buggers if you’re out walking in the desert at night.
