not this guy. this is an African bullfrog. it’s big. the person holding him has normal adult-human sized hands, not little kid hands like me. these frogs will eat mice. they have fangs. this is not a frog to screw around with.
our tulips came up, bloomed and are already starting to fade….it all happened in fast-forward thanks to this crazy weather we’ve had. but they’re still pretty.
we went for a walk down by the Charles today and saw some good birds, including ducks. even without Doug’s mega-super-powered-heavy-duty camera lens, I was able to get a few respectable shots of them.
a friend of mine had a party to celebrate her 40th birthday. naturally, my favorite picture of the evening is of the family dog.
this couch is sitting on the road into the commuter parking lot I use. it’s been there for a few weeks now. I’ve never seen anyone sitting on it.
last year, not only did these plants never bloom, but they were scraggly and pathetic looking, and we weren’t convinced they’d even survive. now they are giving us beautiful pink and purple flowers. (the blue ones in the middle are siberian squills.)
Hotei is the god of abundance and good health. He’s one of the seven lucky gods, and not a bad thing to see when you enter a room.
so the wall between our ex-kitchen and ex-sunroom is gone. in its place are these two temporary supporting walls, which are keeping the ceiling in place until the permanent beam is built
we ordered a few different types of daffodils last fall, including some miniature ones. We didn’t realize quite how miniature they would be, but they are delightful.
