Doug's photo blog — originally a photo a day, now not so much
We departed the island from Vineyard Haven today, a day earlier than planned due to the approaching “post-tropical” storm Hermine. Our normal ferry (Island Queen) was cancelled, and even the Steamship Authority was diverting to Vineyard Haven due to high wind.
After dinner we walked along Ocean Park. Approaching Hermine made for a dramatic sky.
Not a bad shot for a 33 year old manual focus lens.The new camera does much better than the old one with this mirror lens.
I did not get any decent photos on a rainy Thursday so here is an ice cream cone from Wednesday night.
We saw what I think was a red tailed hawk at disc golf today. This is the best shot I could get with my phone camera.
The fancy Caribbean restaurant that did not survive in Oak Bluffs a few years ago has moved to the VFW Hall, with much plainer surroundings but the same good food.
We’re back on Martha’s Vineyard.

Lis and I went for a nature walk in Belmont today and came across a pond that had a very large population of frogs and turtles.
