I made pizza on the grill this evening for dinner. Somehow the dough for mine (on the right) was not very strong, and wound up with a hole that looked like a handle.
Fudge-off
We had Lis’s old boss over for a Fudge-Off: she vacations on Block Island and brought fudge from Blocks of Fudge; we of course provided fudge from Murdick’s on the Vineyard. This is penuche and plain chocolate from each.
The verdict: the smoothness and chocolate flavor from Blocks of Fudge works better, but the granular texture and butter flavor of Murdick’s penuche is superior and won the day.
Heavy
He ain’t heavy, he’s a Lime Bike. Well, on second thought, he’s pretty darn heavy. The trains were all kinds of delayed this morning so I took the bus in, but that left me at the train station this evening with no vehicle. Fortunately Newton just started up a dockless bike-share program so I gave it a try. I will not be using this on a *warm* day, that’s for sure!
Cortado
The baristas next door really dig my tiny little insulated coffee mug, just the right size for a cortado. I’m pretty fond of it myself. Napkin for scale.
Spit
Pork shoulder roast turning on the spit. And lo, it was delicious, yea verily
Cranberry beans
Found at the farmer’s market today. I’ve never cooked fresh cranberry beans before, only the dried ones. Sadly the pretty pods are inedible.
Uh oh
It would appear there was an Incident at our birdfeeder today.

The new house worked out great! If all goes well I think we’ll plan to return to this house next year.
