I wanted to get a picture of the storm tonight.  Alas, it was too dark.  So I’m making do with a picture of the weather radar.

For those times when just dumping your existing long-handled spatula, tongs, etc. into a bag just isn’t good enough.

I went to the food/wine tasting for Rachel & Fred’s upcoming reception today.  Which was announced on the hotel’s event system.

At 10:30 pm this is just wrong:

I was all set to post the one picture I took today, of a foggy day in Quincy.  When I sat down on the hammock swing to do so, I saw the following molted cicada skin and had to go get the big camera.

One of the culinary sources I respect (Cooks Illustrated) does not like the wok for American kitchens because we don’t have the stovetop firepower to use one effectively.  I, on the other hand, spent a fairly ridiculous amount of money on a good stove.  I did so in part so I can use my 20-year-old $15 wok.

Here it’s got mounted the stacked lenses that I’ve been using for those “extreme closeup” shots.

This is a nailhead on our front porch.

It’s a tiny finish nail, maybe 4 penny.  I love how tiny grains of sand from winter are embedded in the nail head’s dimple.

One of the things I love about summer is flatbread on the grill.

These are semolina & whole wheat.

I made myself a nice breakfast of banana bread french toast, homemade sausages, and coffee.
