We’re trying to decide if, as part of rebuilding our front porch, we want to narrow the steps. I made some mockups today, which first required me to take a picture of the front of the house.
Here’s what it might have looked like had they built the stairs narrower 25 years ago:

What went through my mind as I moved stuff into the garage was “Nice hammock swing you got there… be a shame if anything happened to it.”
Belonging to a meat CSA means it’s important to track what cuts we have in the freezer downstairs. This list lives on the fridge. The giant pork chop is for Friday.

Tired of fighting with wireless, I finally broke down and ran CAT5e cable to the loft today.
What you can’t see — because I didn’t have a decent camera with me today, only the phone — is that this truck says “Rich Nye, the Plumbing Guy.”
Sometimes even a software engineer has to print things out and spread the papers out on a table. In this case it’s not a technical problem, but a performance review. Not my favorite activity, but working from home on this glorious day of weather more than made up for it.
We’ve needed rain for most of this summer, and now we’re getting it, for the third day in a row.
