I took today off from work to get some more painting done on the new porch.

Known to some as a maple flower.

This year’s clambake will be dry, one way or another.

Lis went out to brunch with an ex-coworker this morning, so I treated myself to breakfast at my favorite coffee shop before a busy day of painting. Those who have been following my 365 have seen photos from Taste in Newtonville before.

This is a 1 1/2 pound, 1 inch thick, CSA-farm-raised lamb shoulder chop, grill-roasted with hickory chips in the smoker box. We just finished eating it for dinner, and I’m salivating again typing this.

I stained the deck on our new front porch this weekend. Now rain beads up on the wood.

This glove is woven from a nomex/kevlar mix.

Belgian lace tablecloth.

Good old American blue jeans.

The word Velcro is a portmanteau of the two French words velours and crochet.
