Landcaping marks the completion of many a construction project.

I am now officially done painting the front porch.

I took some pictures of flower urns at Home Depot to show Lis so we can decide on one for our front walk (hint: not these).  I think it’s hilarious that they come with “age” features like fake cracks — if my flower urn were cracked I’d get a new one!

Despite the fact I don’t really like “smelly” flowers and they last such a short time, I am really fond of lilac.

Our office manager got fed up buying us normal sized bags of coffee all the time.

Look what I found growing in our lawn. I can only think it was discarded by a neighbor and planted here by a squirrel.

An exciting moment, indeed, in the life of a housecat is the first time in the season that his favorite window is opened.

This is a diamond whetstone, which I use to sharpen our knives.
 

Fun fact: these are manufactured in Marlboro, MA, less than 5 miles from my old house.

We harvested compost and spread it on the back garden bed today. It looks nice now, but we’d better get some mulch on top before the weed seeds discover that compost.
