Why did nobody tell me years ago that the key to tasty roasted pumpkin seeds is that they need to be hulled first?

Maybe next year, our rhododendron bush will have more than one flower bud on it.  Or maybe, if it has only one, the branch bearing it will not be broken off by a contractor’s boot tread.

These Philips LED bulbs are, in my opinion, the best on the market right now, at least until the new breed of “L-prize” LED bulbs come out. And at Massachusetts retailers, they’re currently subsidized to around $15 each, which is a real bargain.

They’re starting to button up the outside of the house. I guess I’ll have a little painting to do this weekend.

Insulation going in is a good sign of progress.

It’s good our contractor keeps a TODO list.  I guess he ran out of paper.

First grill-roasted chicken breast of the season.

We went to Jeff & Andrea’s for a Kitchen Roadshow this evening.  For dessert, they provided cute little pies.

As if expanding spray foam weren’t gaudy enough, the fire-block formula is bright orange.
