I went to China Fair today — a great place to stock up on everyday plates/glasses/etc. What I didn’t realize until I looked at this picture is that I accidentally bought levitating anti-gravity snack plates!

The forecast for today on Sunday, when we did our weekly menu, called for this evening to be rainy and cold.  So we planned ham/bean/kale soup. It’s actually the opposite of rainy and cold this evening, so we changed plans (steak on the grill), but I had gotten out all the soup ingredients already so I went ahead and made the soup anyway, to freeze for another day.

A year later, and I still really like how the little cafe corner in the new kitchen turned out.  We’ve been eating out on the porch all summer, but we’ll be back in here soon enough.

Lis took me out for an awesome birthday dinner tonight (I had the osso bucco), at which I totally forgot to take any pictures. But the desserts we have at the house are far better than what the restaurant had to offer.

We brought this moose lantern home with us from Yellowstone, and he graces our dinner table most every night.

It’s finally cool enough to enjoy a glass of Cognac after dinner.  I tried a couple of weeks ago, but it didn’t quite work.

I suspect the power supply and have ordered a new one. But just in case I’ve also ordered parts to let me get the data off of the drives.

Nice dinner out at Tempo in Waltham tonight.  I have to admit, this beer was not what I was expecting when I ordered it, but it was excellent. Brewed in Framingham, too.

I drove to the train today rather than biked, due to weather. My car was the first one in the lot this morning.
