Lis took me to see the Squirrel Nut Zippers up in Beverly.

This pic was taken earlier in the show than hers, when the musicians were all still playing the same instrument they came on stage with.

I took advantage of ducks being available in my market today, and bought one to cut up for the freezer. The proceeds include a whole pint of this liquid gold.

There’s more than one cultural reference that can get stuck in your head when you’re preparing fava beans.

I looked out the kitchen window just in time to see a hawk land on our fence. It stuck around for long enough to get a few pictures. We’re pretty sure it’s a Cooper’s hawk. It wasn’t until reviewing the photos that I realized in one, it was looking right at me.

We went to Honk Fest in Davis Square today for the first time since 2019. It’s a good time, and we’ll definitely go again.

Two icons of a bygone era, both victims of corporate America. The Custom House is now a Marriott, and Durgin-Park was run into the ground and closed in 2019 by corporate ownership that represented only 12 of the 190 years it had been open.

We visited the Museum of Science on this rainy Thursday, where we saw a Boston Dynamics Spot dog-like robot doing its thing.

We took a behind-the-scenes tour of the Wang Theater in Boston today. We heard some history, and got to see a bunch of places the general public doesn’t typically get a look at: everything backstage, of course. But also the Dress Circle seats, which are reserved at this theater for major donors. It’s a more intimate space in the largest of Boston’s major theaters, but I have to say the sight lines aren’t great.

We visited the harbor seals outside the New England Aquarium today. Challenging lighting conditions, but here is one posing for us, framed by my shadow on the glass.
