Same as the old coat.

I bought a new winter coat today (on the left). Although it looks very similar to the old, it’s a different brand and has technical features that will make it superior for skiing.  My ski buddies will be happy to not have to get used to a new look for me.

The kitties have discovered this cookbook that has been with my mom for the last 30 years. Just before this, Ferrous was trying to climb the bookcase so I got it down for him. I can’t imagine it still smells like the dog who died in 1993. Maybe there’s a good recipe for tuna juice in there.

My grandmother’s copies of Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking, volumes I & II.

And no, I will not be cooking my way through them in their entirety.

We had a praying mantis visit the outside of our porch windows today. Ferrous does want.

We are replacing most of the old windows in the house as part of the current project. The new windows seem to be letting in more light, maybe because they’re actually clean.

Our home automation turns on the hall light in the morning if my alarm is less than 15 minutes after sunrise. Never mind that it was in the 90s today, this morning it was on.

This morning I said farewell to the porch of the house on Martha’s Vineyard for another year.

Michael and I walked around and indulged in some photography for photography’s sake on an achingly beautiful day today.  Here are my two favorite shots.
