Variable weather at Squaw Valley today. We’re currently receiving non-frozen precipitation but at least it held off until we were largely done skiing.

Lis and I did a paint-your-own-pottery date night recently and I made these cute little plates. I think we’ll use them for treats.

The city of Quincy is wasting no time in taking advantage of their newly-reclaimed public park space, today throwing a Presidents’ Day / Winter Holiday party. I just wish they’d saved the start of the live music until after working hours, since not all of us had the day off.

I went to a local beer / food / etc. event with some friends this evening, benefiting the local Boys & Girls Club.

There is nothing better for dinner on a snowy evening than lamb stew.

With the additions of new curtains and Roman shades, the transformation of our living room into a more library-like feel is now complete.

Summer is over: the grenadine I made for the Vineyard is used up.

Myst has been re-released for Android, and I bought it for my tablet. It’s a whole lot easier to take a quick photo of the screen with a hint on it than it is to take copious notes like I did back in 1993. I like this shot because you can see the reflection of my hand and phone in the tablet’s screen.

Nobody told Gandalf that cats are supposed to be aloof.  What you can’t get from the photo is the purring.
