Lanterns

I bought some mason jar lanterns, solar-rechargeable, LED strings inside. Pretty cool. Mason jars not actually included just means I could use up some random empty pickle/salsa jars from the pantry.

Inviting

A lovely way to pass some time on this delightful evening.

Photo note: I literally could not see anything (except for the moose candle) when I took this. I continue to be astounded by my new camera’s low-light performance.

Office visit

I met Bob for dinner & drinks in town this evening. I was early, so I swung by where my new office will be. This is the plaza outside the new building. We’ll be on the 2nd floor; if I have my way my desk will be looking out one of the windows you see here. And if we’re really lucky the WiFi will reach down to this plaza for use on nice days.

Generations

I got a new smartphone today, a Google Pixel. The old ones:

Moto X, from around 2014

Droid Razr Maxx, from around 2012

Droid (the original), from around 2010

I still use the old Droid as my alarm clock. The Maxx, sadly, has a badly cracked screen and is barely usable, though I do keep it in the kitchen for recipe duty. The Moto X will live on as someone-who-shall-not-be-named’s first smartphone.
