Here you see my 2nd crabcake meal of our trip to DC. Why is it impossible to find a decent crabcake in New England? Just say NO to bell pepper, celery, leafy herbs, and other extraneous ingredients! Crabcake should be crabmeat, cracker meal, mayonnaise, and from none to a ton of Old Bay seasoning (depending on what you’re going for), Fried in butter, please.

The woodland phlox is putting on quite a show this year.

Some idiot rammed their car into a telephone pole nearby, and police are directing the main road near our house down our street this evening. I took this shot of the police lights down the street with the big camera and with my phone. Let’s see which one you folks prefer:

I don’t always see protest parades go past my office, but when I do, they’re carrying Russian and Venezuelan flags.

Ten years ago today, we moved into our new house.

We’ve made a few changes along the way to truly make it ours, but the essence of it is still the same 1890 folk Victorian that we admired ten years ago.

 

 

If a double-yolked egg actually hatches, does it grow into a chicken with this many giblets?

In past years, some critter has decapitated these tulips before they bloomed. 

Lis and I went for a walk at the nearby Beaver Brook Reservation and saw… a beaver!

We saw no evidence of beaver activity near this pond, so we think this individual was out exploring today.
