Air Canada is hosting a pop-up poutine outlet in Boston this week. I think several of you would have been disappointed in me had I not gone. I got the “Toronto” and the “Paris”.

These cookies were too big for Lis and me to responsibly enjoy an entire one for a weeknight dessert. So I got a little creative in cutting them in half.

Our cats have never shown any interest in bags or boxes. Until today.

 

One reason I installed patio lights this year is to extend our grilling season. The darkness really brings out the colors from the charcoal chimney.

When I bought this beer, I had no idea the brewery would go out of business before I would drink it. So my enjoyment of it last night was bittersweet, even though the beer was neither bitter nor sweet.

“Doug, why do you have all these super-strong crescent-shaped magnets?”

Me: “What do *you* do with your old hard drives when you retire them?”

 

I had jury duty today, but the entire juror pool was released because a backhoe had cut the courthouse’s internet connection.

…was delicious.

Like Lis, I too am sharing a photo of the stage of Little Shop of Horrors, which we saw with Steve. It was a good production made that much better by the intimate venue: in the 2nd row, we were no more than a few feet from the performers at times.

Naturalist friends, what do I have here? I noticed these little beads covering a piece of fishing line that hangs vertically in our yard.

I assume they’re insect or spider egg cases of some sort, but what?
