We’re not quite sure why the area around Parker’s scar is blue.  We speculate that it must be the subcutaneous sutures dissolving.

We ate fried chicken made from our meat CSA’s fabulous poultry tonight.  These leg quarters are enormous!  I suspect they are from an older bird than the typical 6 week old commercial hen you’ll find in the supermarket.  So much flavor! I feel like I’ve been transported back in time to an era before Perdue.

I didn’t post — or take — a picture today.  As I mentioned on the opening post for this year, I’ve proved that I can take & post a picture every day, so I feel no need to prove anything.  If I don’t do anything particularly photogenic, I won’t post.  Yesterday was a very full day at work, full of software things that don’t lend themselves to pictures, and a nice relaxing evening in front of the TV.  You’ll just have to take my word for it.

We picked up our second Chestnut Farms meat CSA share today.  No roast this time, but lots of steaks & chops of various descriptions, including a maple-cured ham steak that we’re already salivating over.

I spent a good part of today putting together a photo book of my 2009 Project 365 entries.  While this process is relatively easy, doing it with this many pictures (and this much text) does take quite a while.

A couple of nights ago, I posted about Winnie’s new feeding-box door (RFID Winnie).  Well, it seems she’s still eating Parker’s food.  So we’ve had to remove all the magnetically-attracted materials from her collar, holding on her RFID tag and stainless steel ID tag with fishing line.

This box brings us fresh produce, every other Thursday.  It’s from Boston Organics, and I can’t believe I haven’t posted it before now.  It’s all the excitement of getting a package, except you get to eat it.

I made biscuits to go with dinner tonight.  Mmmmmmm…

Those who have been following this blog know that we’ve been having cat-feeding-box issues recently … first Winnie’s door broke so that it was letting either cat in, then Winnie’s replacement door had a stronger internal magnet, allowing Parker’s electronic tag (with a ferrite core in it) to open her new door. We swapped the doors, but Winnie quickly learned that she could now get into Parker’s box.  So we ordered a second new cat door (of a different brand), and we now have Magna-Parker and…
