My latest batch of homebrew is hanging out in the pantry because it’s too cold in the basement for the yeast to bottle-carbonate properly.

One of these things is not like the others.  One of these things does not belong.

Those who have been to our house will recognize this as the bench in our foyer. We think Ferrous likes it because the radiator heats it from below.

The cats definitely get up on the stove at night.

Lis’s mom is working on a project involving an old 2×2-inch photo. I did enlargements of some details today using the macro lens.

Somewhere in this box lies the blame for our lack of heat yesterday.

It would appear our heating boiler needs a new circulator pump.  Fortunately it’s not completely dead, but the house is very slow to warm up this evening.

The first snow of the season — a wet, nasty snow, but snow nonetheless — falls on Quincy Center.

I discovered that our 2nd floor thermostat was slightly mis-programmed, and was making the bedroom 2 degrees warmer on Sunday night than any other night of the week. I wonder how long a lack of a good night’s sleep has been sabotaging my Monday mornings.
