Beer Advent Calendar day 4: Small Change “The Future Is Unwritten” English-style dark mild.

They’re taking pity on us after yesterday’s 11.1% monster: this beer is 3.1% ABV.

Beer Advent Calendar day 3: Founders French Toast Bastard, vanilla cinnamon maple bourbon barrel aged Scotch ale. I am drinking it out of a Medieval Manor 8oz beer glass because it’s 11.1% and also might give me diabetes.

On days like today, it’s nice to have a (mother nature provided) walk-in fridge.

One of the street trees in front of our house died in the drought this summer, and the city cut it down a couple weeks ago. This morning they ground out the stump, using a piece of equipment about as different from a paint brush as you can get.

I think I’ve only had one advent calendar in my life — I was probably about 10 — so I decided to treat myself this year. I think I will enjoy these beers more than I did the trinkets and stale chocolate.

How many city trucks does it take to change a light bulb?

I am pretty sure I’ve never seen a pileated woodpecker in the wild before today. And I’m thrilled to have gotten a half-decent photo, too!
