We don’t get to Providence often enough.  It’s got some nice things going for it.

Achievement unlocked!  I am considering calling this the Infinite Table.

The new car has a neato display of your mileage over the last trip. I’ve been doing pretty well on my morning commute recently, especially when I get to work at 7:30 am.  (Linux Outlaws is one of my podcasts.)

5 years ago today we were briefly homeless as we moved to Newton. Our stuff followed the next day.

A bunch of us went to Saloon in Davis to celebrate Duke Ellington’s 115th birthday.  Saloon is a speakeasy, so of course there were cocktails to be had. This one is gin and honey based, and made Greg make The Face.

A company in Cambridge sells reclaimed lumber, and I found these chestnut boards with which to build our console table / bar for the loft. The top will be one board, 16.5 inches wide and 7.5 feet long.

I plan to build a window seat into the dormer in the loft. Today I took a baby step toward making it a cozy place to curl up with a book: a switch for a wall-mounted reading light, and a place to plug in your device for charging. 

Bonus picture: my reward for a weekend of hard work: a blood-orange sidecar. It’s every bit as tasty as it looks.
