I guess I’m not going anywhere.

This is the external keyboard that came with my new work laptop, and the keyboard that came with one of my first Macs in the early 1990s. Except that they’re both Apple-branded, they could not be more different. The old one is by far preferable to type on, and so that’s what I’ll be using.

You know it’s good stock (ham stock in this case) if you can stand a fork up in it.

I finally broke down and asked my work for a company-issued laptop, mostly for better-supported remote access. They fixed me up pretty well. My old laptop (on the left) will now mostly stay at home and be strictly for personal use.

I have to thank Verizon for delivering these phone books on trash day, so I could easily put them in the same place we’ve put all our other phone books: in the recycle bin.

My unofficial gague of how cold it’s been recently is the temperature of our (drafty, uninsulated) basement: if it gets below 50 degrees, I consider it a cold snap.

I picked up a 6-pack of Smuttynose’s new seasonal beer today. It tastes like someone added waaay too much hops to their Old Brown Dog (which I also like).

It’s not a nice treat if it doesn’t look special.

I took some of the grates off the top of my stove to clean out today’s accumulation of bacon grease, leading to cool shadows inside.

Freezer case at Moody’s Delicatessen, taken while awaiting my order. Is there a better sandwich than their Bahn Mi?  I don’t think so.
