Welcome back

I went into the office today for the first time since mid-March 2020. Surprisingly, neither my gym bag nor my coffee mug had gotten up and walked away on their own. My cordless mouse’s battery was, however, completely dead.

Lis and I both got our post-Pandemic haircuts today, and went out to eat to celebrate.

Today I built

I pitched in to help build this platform in front of a local restaurant, so their COVID parking-space-takeover outdoor seating is level with the sidewalk for accessibility. We had a team of 6 (including 2 Newton city councilors), and it was lovely to be outside working on this gorgeous day.

Small but mighty

I wish I could coax this groundcover to spread more in our garden. Its flowers are only about 1/4″ across, but they’re a brilliant purple-blue and last for over a month.

Not a good sign

It’s never the most relaxing morning when you need to call the electric company at 8am. Various things in the house weren’t working, and I finally figured out (before coffee, mind you) that we had lost one phase of our electric service. The nice lineman diagnosed it as a loose connection where their wire attaches to the house, and everything was fixed by 10.
