Colors

One reason I installed patio lights this year is to extend our grilling season. The darkness really brings out the colors from the charcoal chimney.

Sad

When I bought this beer, I had no idea the brewery would go out of business before I would drink it. So my enjoyment of it last night was bittersweet, even though the beer was neither bitter nor sweet.

Civic duty

I had jury duty today, but the entire juror pool was released because a backhoe had cut the courthouse’s internet connection.

Little Shop

Like Lis, I too am sharing a photo of the stage of Little Shop of Horrors, which we saw with Steve. It was a good production made that much better by the intimate venue: in the 2nd row, we were no more than a few feet from the performers at times.

What is it?

Naturalist friends, what do I have here? I noticed these little beads covering a piece of fishing line that hangs vertically in our yard.

Dime for scale, and I used a light from the side for better contrast so the color is not necessarily perfectly accurate. Click through to see the full resolution, and for a wider shot.

I assume they’re insect or spider egg cases of some sort, but what?

Turkey

This is the first wild turkey I’ve seen in our neighborhood. I know they’re generally common in the Boston area, but we haven’t had them here. Until now.
