Generations

I got a new smartphone today, a Google Pixel. The old ones:

Moto X, from around 2014

Droid Razr Maxx, from around 2012

Droid (the original), from around 2010

I still use the old Droid as my alarm clock. The Maxx, sadly, has a badly cracked screen and is barely usable, though I do keep it in the kitchen for recipe duty. The Moto X will live on as someone-who-shall-not-be-named’s first smartphone.
