Sand

No, I’m not at the beach. This sand came out of our water heater last weekend when I flushed it. The city has been doing work on the water lines and I think it stirred up some gunk.

Campfire

Thanks to Greg for introducing me to what is my new favorite sipping whiskey. High West Campfire has sweetness from bourbon, spiciness from rye, and smokiness from scotch. You can see from the level in the bottle that I’ve already had a few glasses.

8mm

I have some 8mm home movies from my parents, from the 1960s. I’m taking macro photos of a few frames to see if I think they’re worthwhile to get digitized. From what I can tell, the quality is about what you’d expect from tiny 8mm frames, no autofocus, no auto-exposure, with an inexpensive camera, in the hands of an amateur. And I think I need a projector to even have a chance of figuring out what I’m looking at. But here are my dad’s parents; I think they are walking through a doorway in some sort of thatched wall.
