To anyone in Massachusetts who wanted a salad this week: I’m sorry, but thanks to the last 2 Boston Organics deliveries, Lis and I have ALL the lettuce.
I cut a hole into the plumbing chase beside our fridge today, to see what’s inside. I stuck the fisheye lens in there so you can see too. Today’s photo is the de-fished result; this is looking down toward the floor. You can see some of the original kitchen’s beadboard wainscot.
Lis does not really like collard greens. But cooked with onion, chicken broth, cream, hot pepper flakes, and some leftover breakfast sausage they make a surprisingly hearty dinner.
What we call our “white-handled scissors” were purchased by my mom in approximately 1977. For years they’ve had duct tape holding together one of the handles, but are otherwise excellent general-purpose scissors. So when Lis found a NEW pair of the same style, she had to buy them.
We met with our contractor for the kitchen/sunroom project today, going over the contract for the kitchen and signing a contract to do design/zoning work for the sunroom.
We obtained these tiny chocolate bottles containing a liquid spirit center at a Yankee swap. They clearly do contain alcohol, but with so much sugar that even the Cutty Sark tastes like Robitussin. I think I’ll go rinse my mouth out with bourbon.
