Wet?

I had to replace our indoor/outdoor thermometer; the old one succumbed to the elements.  The new one is nice because its remote sensor measures humidity as well as temperature, and is wireless.  And it gives its opinion of the current weather.

I’m not sure I’d describe “currently flurrying” as “wet” but I would agree it’s somewhat unpleasant.

Small print

Graphic novels are not designed for 41-year-old eyes.  Reading one recently, I ran across a frame with text too small for me to read without assistance.  So I used the macro lens to take a picture of it.

Bonus points to anyone who can identify the graphic novel.

Dust

Lis and I have a HEPA filter in the bedroom: both of us have allergies, and it does seem to help. I replaced the filter cartridge yesterday. It’s definitely doing something, as you can see from the dust buildup here on the prefilter.

You can never be too rich, too thin…

Or have too much disk space.  At least not if you take a lot of photos 🙂

Upon coming back from Costa Rica I made the unpleasant discovery that I was running out of disk space, both on the house server and my desktop.  So I bought new disks for the house server and trickled down the old disks for other purposes.  Here’s one of the hand-me-down disks on its way to a new purpose.

For those curious, the house server is now a 2 terabyte RAID-1, and my desktop has a 300 GB RAID-1 for data and a solid-state system disk.  The 500 GB disk pictured above will go into the MythTV system, bringing it up to 1.5 TB.

Anybody need a couple of 200GB disks?
