Hydrangea is a plant that is adapted to grow in sandy soil — that is, tolerates dry conditions fairly well. When hydrangea plants look like this, you know we need rain!

Lis and I went to Arnold Arboretum today. We saw lots of trees and shrubs, and that was cool and all, but we also got to watch a spider catch and kill a caterpillar many times her own size. Now that’s cool!
