We are in our new house!  Everything went surprisingly smoothly, thanks to the professionals we worked with, and the friendly attitudes of the buyers and sellers.

After stowing the 2 car-fulls of stuff we had with us, we sat down to await the arrival of Lis’s moms and the kitties.  No, that’s not Lis’s beer 🙂

Our movers came today.  They took all our stuff, except for the few items we marked “No.”  Some of these are going to the new owners, and some we’ll need over the next couple of days until we are reunited with those many boxes.

Thanks to whoever owns the “southboro” open wireless access point on my street for making it possible for me to post this evening.

I went on the final walkthrough of our new house today.  It has 3 doors, including the garage…

…and six different brands of lockset. I guess some people like walking around with a building superintendant’s worth of keys in their pockets.

This creeping phlox is one of the more spectacular flowers we’ve planted over the years.

I’m glad we got to enjoy it again before leaving.

Everything in our kitchen cabinets is fragile!  Well, it is now — we’ve packed up almost everything else.  We’ll let the movers pack the breakables.

Greg helped me move a couple of things today: our fishtank to his house for boarding of our fish until we’re settled in the new house, and our electric dryer to our friend Kris, who bought it.

It’s good to have a friend with a pickup truck who knows how to use it.  Thanks Greg!

Today’s photo is another of what I’m sure will be a continuing series (January 21) (March 12) of the view from our big conference room at work.  It’s a good spot from which to watch the seasons progress.

Who needs Radio Shack when you have…

This place has electrical and electronic parts galore.  Of the many things we’ll be closer to in the new house, I am happy about this one.

I stayed home today to get some paperwork and phone calls done.  The weather was too nice for me to sit in the office, so I set up a temporary office on the porch.

Parker did not budge from his spot on that couch all day.

Our “phone service” for the new house arrived today.  In a box.

This brings to 6 or 7 the number of “new-in-box” items we’ll have the movers move, which seems kinda silly.
